Patwell Street
Situated in the budding town of Bruton this once unadorned 3 Bedroom home has evolved into a captivating contemporary home. Working alongside Thomas Conran, we immersed ourselves in this 1830 Georgian Townhouse.
The property is an English Heritage Grade 2 Listed Building, we accompanied its stunning original features with an Alice in wonderland style decor meaning Nothing is ever as it seems.
An example of this is portrayed in the second bedroom. We embellished the walls with a traditional style Toile wallpaper, Once studied you notice a modern adaptation on this classic design created by Timorous Beasties. This Present-day feature was only enhanced in-between the historic wooden beam detail.
Our hand-crafted black cedar kitchen with soft close cupboards and handless frontals stands Gracefully above the Moroccan mix hexagon tiled floor.
The centre piece cast iron roll top bath in the master bedroom ensuite positively time travels you back to the 18th century, floating above the long-established wooden floorboards. Yet surrounded by energetic and bold decor it embraces you back to the current day.
This project is the crest of modern meeting heritage, A favoured style of approach for us all at Modern Heritage.
